Welcome
We are an online (streaming only) diy radio operating out of an attic public space in Seattle's Central District. We feature found sound, field recordings, story-telling, dream-collecting, radio plays, live house shows, local in-home performances and content given to us BY YOU. We support local and northwest music and other underground music from around the world. We broadcast 24 HOURS A DAY everyday.
Featured Show
Konspiracy Korner
Thursdays 9-11pm PST
e_j_buster
Program Description: In a world where the Earth is allegedly whizzing through the universe at speeds exceeding 400,000 mph, there is still a place that you can go where the Earth is stationary. That place is right here on Hollow Earth Radio in the Konspiracy Korner, 9pm Thursdays.
Over time, the ‘Moving Earth’ hoax and many other hoaxes will be examined while listening to experimental and psychedelic noise music from far and near.
Also, fun with loops…

March 16th: Nonsequitur & Hollow Earth Radio Present Magma Fest at The Chapel
Posted By DJ Garrett on 03/16/2012 at 10:52PM
Here's a writeup about Friday's Magma Fest show at The Chapel Performance Space in Wallingford from the Stranger!
"(Friday's) Magma Fest lineup includes some of the Northwest's most rigorous experimental-music explorers. Perhaps best known of the lot is Stuart Dempster, trombonist for the Deep Listening Band, which features the great minimalist composer/accordionist Pauline Oliveros. Often recording in a massive Port Townsend cistern, Dempster is mainly interested in stately, ethereal drones that morph infinitesimally, suggesting a soundtrack for a utopian eternity of calm and peace. Cellist/bassist Paul Rucker's improvisations and compositions typically are augmented by, in his words, "infrared beams, lasers, touch pads... video, photography, animation, and large-format printing." Sounds and images pun with and complement one another with a cleverly playful intellectual heft. DAVE SEGAL"

March 24th: Bad For Jazz & Table And Chairs & Hollow Earth Radio Magma Festival At The Chapel!
Posted By DJ Elle on 03/09/2012 at 12:42AM
Hollow Earth Radio’s Magma Festival
Curated By Bad For Jazz + Table & Chairs March 24, 2012 @ 7pm Chapel Performance Space Sliding scale donations
Hollow Earth Radio’s annual March-long Magma Festival has selected the improvisational happening organization Bad For Jazz and local out-jazz record label Table & Chairs to curate their slant on Seattle’s underground jazz offerings. Tonight’s event will feature four diverse performances by just a fraction of Seattle’s young and seasoned jazz interpreters. Aside from this unique grouping of performers, all artists are expected to improvise their sets, making this a one-of-a-kind happening not to brush off the radar of must-attend shows. Performance lineup as follows:
KING TEARS BAT TRIP – This rhythm-dynamic big beat septet consists of 5 drummers, 1 guitarist, and 1 saxophonist. Their tribal anxiety is iced-over w/ melodic near noise-toned guitar and bemoaning sax that shifts hinted themes into far off/far out improvisational breakdowns. This date will also see the digital release of their new album on band member Luke Bergman’s Table & Chairs Records. www.tableandchairsmusic.com
FIGEATER - Disjointed, amok-running, yet weaving explorations of innate genre fusing by multi- instrumentalist/vocalist Beth Fleenor. This quartet’s songlike psychedelic freakout episodes unsnap for punctuated improvisations that re-button into sonic spelunking. www.thefrankagency.org
WA– Sometimes a duo helmed by the breakneck guitarist/saxophonist Simon Henneman and percussionist Greg Klepligner. Sometimes a quartet w/ note annulling guitarist CJ Stout and the tonality totality of bicycle-playing/electronic artist Sean Lane. Always a lock on eureka performances, no matter the lineup. These veteran jazz chancers streamline sharp updates to 1960’s Impulse New-Thing into the duct of ever-inventiveness. http://www.tableandchairsmusic.com/artists/wa
T’TH & HARE – This ex Unfair Parents duo will be debuting what can only be expected to be flat out hyper noise jazz. The only reference can (ahem, will) mention is that the instrumentation will consist of Billy Safarik (formerly of MOUNTAINSS to boot) alternating between fleeting saxophone and guitar with drummer/trombonist Aaron Weinberg as the anchor. This evening’s wildcard indeed. (no link on purpose)

Golden Daggers and Magma present Dave End, Clyde Peterson, Theo Hilton this Friday
Posted By Moondog on 03/08/2012 at 03:22AM
Red Velvet. Rainbow Glitter. Rad Queers.
This Friday, March 9th! Magma Festival and Golden Daggers Vaudeville present a very Special Queer Variety Show!
Featuring:
Dave End (San Francisco) - With an accordion, a golden throat, and expertly-applied eyeshadow, Dave End may just change your life. She is equal parts Wizened Sage and Baudy Comic. Her one-person shows are glimpses into a glitter-dust universe. In one sentence: Dave End dazzles.
Clyde Peterson (SEA) - Clyde is an artwork powerhouse. Playing shows as Your Heart Breaks, presenting rad and raunchy experimental films, and generally hauling ass on everything from silk-screening to punk-quilting. This dude does it all. For Golden Daggers, he'll be screening shorts from his new and riotous queer animation series: Fanning the Flames of Faggot Lust.
Theo Hilton (SEA) - Theo has set hearts and minds on fire as part of the musical projects Defiance, Ohio and Nana Grizol. His songs are handhewn vignettes of punk ethics and cross-country friendships. He's a lyrical painter; a poet-wordsculptor.
At the Grand Illusion Cinema!
Doors at 9 pm
Show at 9:30 pm
$10
